DESCRIPTION

Dimethylformamide (DMF) is a colorless, transparent, hygroscopic, and polar liquid widely used as a solvent across various industrial applications. It plays a key role in producing polyurethane-coated materials like synthetic leather, as well as processing adhesives, plastics, acrylic fibers, and polyurethane resins. Its low evaporation rate makes it ideal for manufacturing films, surface coatings, and pharmaceuticals. Additionally, DMF serves as a solvent in pesticide development, industrial cleaning processes, and as a reagent in chemical reactions. DMF is produced by combining methyl formate and dimethylamine or through the reaction of dimethylamine with carbon monoxide.
