DESCRIPTION
Tall Oil Fatty Acid (TOFA), also known as ""liquid rosin"" or tallol, is a viscous, yellow-black liquid with a characteristic odor. It is produced through the vacuum distillation of crude tall oil, a byproduct of the Kraft pulping process. This compound is a member of the oleic acid family and is widely used as a raw material in various industries. Its derivatives include alkyd resins, PVC stabilizers, synthetic lubricants, and oilfield chemicals, among others. TOFA is primarily used in the manufacture of resins, coatings, inks, and personal care products, as well as in the production of lubricants and metalworking fluids. Additionally, it is used in the petroleum industry for stabilizers and additives. This product is available in liquid form, in bulk or drums, and should be stored in cool, dry conditions, away from direct sunlight. Its versatility and low cost make it a popular and sustainable alternative to other fatty acids.
