Polypropylene Glycol

PRODUCT OVERVIEW

DESCRIPTION

"Polypropylene Glycol (PPG) is a synthetic polymer derived from propylene glycol and water. It is a viscous liquid at room temperature, recognized for its hydrophobic nature and lower toxicity compared to Polyethylene Glycol (PEG). With its ability to absorb water and maintain product texture, PPG is widely used in cosmetics, including lotions, soaps, and hair care products, where it functions as a conditioner, humectant, and viscosity regulator. Beyond cosmetics, PPG serves as a solvent in food colorings, flavors, paints, and plastics. It is also utilized to produce artificial smoke in firefighting training and theatrical productions. These properties make it an essential ingredient for softening and soothing the skin while ensuring the quality and performance of various formulations."
