PRODUCT OVERVIEW
DESCRIPTION
Diethylenetriamine (DETA) is a transparent, colorless compound with an ammonia-like odor, commonly used in various industrial applications. It serves as a hardener for epoxy resins, adhesives, and sealants, and as a precursor for polyamidoamines. In the detergent industry, it is used to synthesize chelating agents, surfactants, and fabric softeners. Additionally, in ink production, DETA reacts with dibasic fatty acids to form polyamide resins used as binders in flexographic printing inks and abrasion-resistant varnishes. DETA is also utilized in the paper industry, where it acts as a component in moisture-resistant resins, and in the production of additives for asphalt, corrosion inhibitors, and additives for lubricating oils and fuels. In metal complex chemistry, DETA is a key raw material for producing DTPA (diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid), a chelating agent used across various industries.
