DESCRIPTION

Tetrahydrofuran (THF) is a clear, colorless, and highly flammable liquid with a faintly sweet odor. It is a cyclic ether and is widely used as a solvent in various industrial applications. THF is an important intermediate in the production of polymers, including polytetramethylene ether glycol (PTMEG), which is used to make spandex and other elastic fibers. It is also used as a solvent in the manufacture of adhesives, inks, and coatings, as well as in the production of pharmaceuticals and other chemicals. THF has a low boiling point and is highly reactive with oxygen and air, making it important to handle with caution.
