DESCRIPTION

Sodium hydroxide, commonly known as caustic soda or lye, is an inorganic compound with the chemical formula NaOH. It is highly soluble in water and readily absorbs moisture and carbon dioxide from the surrounding air. Caustic soda finds wide application in the cleaning products for household and industrial uses, and is also used to adjust pH levels in various manufacturing processes. Additionally, sodium hydroxide is utilized in the production of pulp and paper, textiles, drinking water, soaps and detergents, and as a drain cleaner in several industries.
