Dipropyl Heptyl Phthalate (DPHP) is a colorless, oily, viscous, and hydrophobic organic compound used as a plasticizer in PVC and other copolymers. It is produced by esterifying 2-propyl heptanol and phthalic anhydride, offering excellent plasticizing properties and serving as a direct replacement for DEHP and DINP in various applications. DPHP is particularly suited for outdoor and weatherproofing uses due to its superior UV stability compared to most plasticizers. In addition to its excellent compatibility with PVC, DPHP provides high plasticizing efficiency, low migration, and excellent heat resistance. It also has low volatility and low fogging, making it ideal for automotive interiors. Furthermore, its exceptional electrical resistivity makes it suitable for wire and cable plastic products. DPHP is widely used in applications such as automotive interiors, construction materials (e.g., PVC plastisols), leather goods, clothing, gloves, shoes, and wires and cables.
