Dipropyl Heptyl Phthalate (DPHP)

Dipropyl heptyl phthalate (DPHP) is one of phthalate family which can be used as a potentially plasticizer in different possibilities. In contrast to most other phthalates, DPHP is an excellent plasticizer for increasing polymers flexibility and rub life. The characteristic is very beneficial to the plastic and rubber industry where the quality of materials demanded are higher. The special properties of the material allow the products to be adapted to different conditions, but to keep the strength as well. Properties of Dipropyl Heptyl Phthalate (DPHP) CAS Number: 53306-54-0Molecular Formula: C28H46O4Boiling Point: 425.8±13.0 °C(Predicted)Acidity (as Phthalic Acid) (wt%): Max. 0.03Vapor pressure: 0Pa at 20℃Ester content (wt%): Min. 99 Physical Properties Appearance: Colorless to slightly yellow liquid.Odor: Odorless or with a mild, characteristic phthalate scent.Viscosity: High viscosity, part which allows it to act as a plasticizer.Solubility: Soluble in some organic solvents (e.g., ethanol and acetone) but virtually insoluble in water .Flexibility Properties: it increases flexibility of polymers and softens. It is useful in bettering materials pliancy. Application in the Plastic & Rubber Industry Dipropyl heptyl phthalate has major importance in the flexibility and elongation of materials can be enhanced substantially by the addition of DPHP to commercial polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and other thermoplastics. This is why they can produce different products made of flexible films, electrical cables and automotive parts. The performance improvement of DPHP allows these applications to last longer and be more reliable, so manufacturers tend to like this for increasing their product performance. Other Industries of Application Further than plastic and rubber sector, DPHP has various other huge applications in these kind of industries as well: Oil & Gas: an used in lubricants and sealants for performance in severe conditionsConstruction: acts as plasticizer in construction material enhancing flexibility and decreasing rigidity Cosmetics: Added to cosmetic products for a better texture and formulation. Food & Nutrition: Used in food packaging materials to guarantee safety and conformity with the law. Pharmaceuticals: Plasticizers in drug delivery systems and packaging Agriculture: contained in certain films and coatings for crop protection.
