Diethylene Glycol (DEG) Wiki
CAS: 111-46-6
Diethylene Glycol, known as DEG, is a simple but functional organic
compound. It is colorless and almost odorless, highly water-soluble, and thus
has a very wide range of use because of its hygroscopic nature and properties
as a solvent. Diethylene glycol is produced from ethylene glycol by oxidation
and hydrolysis. Thus, its molecular structure is unique from that of similar
compounds with higher viscosity and boiling point. It is suitable for
applications requiring thermal stability and compatibility of materials.
