CAS: 108-21-4
Isopropyl acetate (IPAC) is a liquid belonging to the ester group. It has the reputation of being a solvent with the power to dissolve many other substances from all types of industrial sectors. It differs from other solvents in terms of low boiling point and fast evaporation rate that make it the best choice, especially in formulation needing quick-dry as well as high efficiency. Its usage in chemical industry dates back to the mid-20th century, especially used for coatings, adhesives and cleaning agents. It is compatible with other organic compounds.

Application in the CASE Segment (Coatings, Adhesives, Sealants, Elastomers)
Iso-Propyl Acetate is used in a wide range of applications, the main use being as solvent with high volatility helping fast evaporation in coatings formulation which helps them to dry instantly. In adhesives, it is used to adjust consistency and ensure proper adhesion. While it can help in mixing compounds in elastomers, it is not commonly used to improve flexibility or strength in these products.
Applications in Other Industries
● Food & Nutrition: Can be used for flavor extraction or in some products, but needs to be handled carefully
● Pharmaceutical: Sometimes used in medical assembly, particularly as a solvent in liquid arrangements
● Personal Care: Used in cosmetics and skincare products for its ability to dissolve both oil and water phases and evaporate quickly.
● HI&I (Household, Industrial and Institutional): In cleaning products; preferred for its high effectiveness in dissolving fats & oils.
● Plastics and Rubber: As a solvent in plastic manufacturing, enhances the application of plastic resins as well as increases their consistency.
