DESCRIPTION
Sodium metasilicate pentahydrate is a white, crystalline, hygroscopic solid commonly used in the production of detergents and cleaning products. When dissolved in water, it forms an alkaline solution that effectively removes oils, fats, and greases while preventing the redeposition of dirt. This compound is used in liquid and powder detergents, textile bleaching, refrigerator cleaning, as well as in food and beverage industries, and industrial and hospital laundries. It also functions as a pH stabilizer, maintaining alkaline solutions during cleaning processes. Due to its hygroscopic nature, it should be stored in a cool, dry place, away from moisture.
