Polyethylene glycol monomethyl ether (MPEG) is a polyether compound with a reactive methyl ether terminal chain, widely used across various industrial and pharmaceutical applications. It is water-soluble, wettable, lubricious, and physiologically inert, making it ideal for use in cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, adhesives, and filtration products. MPEG is also utilized in the production of antifreeze, hydraulic fluids, resins, and low-freezing dynamites. When stored in a cool, dry place in a closed container, it maintains its stability for at least two years.
