DESCRIPTION
Oxidized Castor Oil (also known as blown castor oil or polymerized castor oil) is a viscous, golden yellow to honey-colored liquid produced through the oxidative polymerization of castor oil. This process involves blowing air or oxygen into castor oil at temperatures between 80–130°C, which increases its viscosity, specific gravity, and reactivity. Commonly used as a plasticizer in resins, adhesives, and sealants, oxidized castor oil enhances flexibility, penetration, and adhesion properties. It also serves as a coupling solvent, medium for pigment dispersion, and a lubricant base for oil and solvent-resistant applications, such as plug valves. Additionally, it's used in hydraulic oils, polyurethane systems as a polyol component, and lubricants and greases, offering excellent low-temperature properties and high-temperature lubricity.
