PRODUCT OVERVIEW
DESCRIPTION
Diammonium Phosphate (DAP) is a widely used fertilizer that provides essential nutrients for plant growth. It contains 18% nitrogen (N) and 46% phosphorus (P2O5), making it an excellent source of both nutrients. DAP is highly soluble, allowing for quick dissolution in soil, where it releases ammonium and phosphate, benefiting plants, particularly in the early stages of development. Produced through a controlled reaction of ammonia and phosphoric acid, the hot slurry is then cooled, granulated, and sieved. DAP is known for its effective handling, storage, and relatively high nutrient content. Besides its primary use in agriculture, it also serves in industries like fire retardants and winemaking. Its production requires phosphate rock, sulfur, and ammonia, which influences its cost and availability in the global market.
