PRODUCT OVERVIEW
DESCRIPTION
Sodium bisulfate is primarily used for acidifying solutions. In technical applications, it is used for metal refining, as a cleaning product, and to lower the pH of water, thereby increasing the effectiveness of chlorine in pools and spas. It is also approved by the AAFCO as a general-purpose additive in food, including pet food, and is used as a urine acidifier to dissolve kidney stones. As a dry acid, sodium bisulfate is stable in a dry environment but dissolves quickly when added to water. In humid environments, it absorbs moisture from the air, making it hygroscopic. When mixed with a liquid, sodium bisulfate lowers the pH of the liquid, making it a useful tool for adjusting acidity in various applications.
