Redispersible Polymer Powder (RDP)

DESCRIPTION

Redispersible polymer powder is the most important binder in dry powder materials based on cement and gypsum. This powder, obtained by spray drying a polymer emulsion, is re-emulsified with water and acquires the same properties as the original emulsion, forming a film after evaporation of the water. This film is highly resistant, flexible and adheres well to the substrate, improving the waterproof performance of the mortar. Redispersible polymer powders are free-flowing white powders that, when added to water, disintegrate and form individual polymer dispersions again. These powders are added to mortar to increase its flexibility and cohesion, forming a continuous film that helps improve water retention, mortar bond strength and workability of the dry mix.
