Dow declares Force Majeure on Ethylene Oxide Derivatives. Supply disruptions from Middle East

The Dow force majeure glycol ethers, ethanolamines, ethyleneamines announcement follows significant logistics disruptions affecting chemical shipments from the Middle East. According to Dow, ongoing regional instability has created serious challenges for marine transportation routes, particularly through the Strait of Hormuz.Because of these circumstances, Dow has declared force majeure on several ethylene oxide derivative products manufactured at its facility in AlJubail, Saudi Arabia. These disruptions are outside the company’s reasonable control and have limited its ability to safely and reliably transport finished products. As a result, supply availability for several chemical intermediates may be impacted across global markets.
