GreenChem Industries Strengthens Its Growth in Mexico Despite Regulatory and Commercial Challenges
In the special Mexico Chemicals 2025 edition published by Global Business Reports, our General Director in Mexico, Francisco Martínez, gave an exclusive interview where we shared our strategic vision for the country, as well as the main challenges and opportunities within the national chemical sector.
Since our arrival in June 2024, we have strengthened our presence with three key warehouses in Guadalajara, Monterrey, and Mexico City. This expansion is part of our regional plan for Latin America and responds to the increasing demand from our U.S.-based clients seeking faster solutions, with local inventory and efficient compliance. Today, over 90% of our operations in Mexico are managed with local talent, processes, and regulations. The chemical distribution sector is growing faster than the global economy, at an annual rate of 7%. Mexico is well positioned to surpass that average, and at GreenChem, we are prepared to support this growth. According to projections, the Mexican chemical market is expected to grow from USD 38 billion in 2023 to over USD 53 billion by 2028.The industrial regions of Bajío, northern Mexico, and major manufacturing cities are key to our strategy. Industries such as food, cosmetics, plastics, agriculture, and healthcare are demanding safer, more efficient, and sustainable chemical products. Our response is clear: innovative solutions backed by a strong logistics network. We recognize that regulatory challenges remain. As our General Director in Mexico pointed out, importing certain products can take up to six months due to the involvement of multiple government agencies. Nevertheless, we remain firmly committed to compliance, efficiency, and reliability.Sustainability is also an essential part of our value proposition. While still emerging in Mexico, the adoption of responsible products—such as bio-based and VOC-free solvents—is growing, especially among major manufacturers with high standards. At GreenChem, we are ready to lead this transformation.Looking ahead to 2025, we will continue to invest in nearshoring and regional integration. Our strategy is clear: to remain a reliable, efficient, and sustainable partner for the North American chemical industry.
