Stay Ahead: Diversify Your Chemical Supply Chain
Recent changes in trade tariffs are significantly altering global markets, especially within the chemical sector. The White House has declared a temporary halt on tariffs for goods coming from Canada and Mexico as negotiations continue. However, a 10% tariff increase is still in place for imports from China and Hong Kong, along with Section 301 and antidumping/countervailing duties. There are exemptions for goods that were loaded or in transit before February 1st (if they entered before March 7th), personal-use items, and specific HTSUS Chapter 98 products. Furthermore, goods that enter a Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) after February 4th must have privileged foreign status, while those with domestic status remain exempt.
