Operations Resuming on U.S. East & Gulf Coast Ports

UPDATE: Reactivation of Port Operations Following Agreement Between ILA and USMX

We are pleased to announce that the port strike led by USEC has come to an end after the International Longshoremen’s Association (ILA) and the United States Maritime Alliance (USMX) reached a tentative agreement on wages. This agreement, which includes an extension of the master contract until January 15, 2025, marks the beginning of the full resumption of operations at East Coast ports, ensuring the continuous flow of goods. The agreed-upon wage increase is estimated to be in the range of 61%-62% over a six-year period. However, the main issue of contention—terminal automation—still needs to be resolved and negotiated before the deadline. The resumption of port activities will have a direct impact on our supply chain, allowing the delivery of raw materials and finished products to return to its normal course. For Greenchem, this means improved operational stability, avoiding further delays that could have affected both our production and our deliveries to customers.Additionally, with the resolution of this situation, we anticipate a reduction in logistics costs as maritime trade returns to normalcy. This stability will enhance our inventory planning, enabling us to meet our commitments and continue offering high-quality products without interruptions. We thank our teams for their hard work and patience during this period, and we look forward to moving ahead with smoother operations thanks to this agreementAt Greenchem we are actively working on solutions to ensure a smooth transition.
