Information is swirling and pointing to a possible shortage of Para-Chlorobenzotrifluoride (PCBTF). A number of factors are at play in this potential PCBTF shortfall, but most notably the 2016 G20 summit held in Hangzhou, China.

PCBTF Shortfall Expected

The G20 Summit is a global forum for the governments and financial directors from the leading world economies. Established in 1999, their mandate remains to examine, analyze, and report on world policy issues that impact the global economy. Their aim is to not only promote discussion but reform on these issues. This symposium of the financial heads of state has been held annually since 2011.

With the 2016 summit slated to be held in Hangzhou, China, many of the PCBTF manufacturers will be suspending their production until the end of the summit. Bearing in mind that China is the largest and most significant producer and exporter of PCBTF in the world, when these manufacturing and production processes are interrupted, the ramifications of such a stall are extensive.

It is advised to purchase all needed PCBTF inventory promptly to take advantage of GreenChem’s lower pricing before the increase sets in.
