BASF Corporation declared force majeure February 7, 2018, on Purified Ethylene Oxide (“PEO”) due to an unexpected equipment failure that caused a shutdown of the ethylene oxide unit at its Geismer, Lousiana site. The duration of the shutdown is not yet known, but BASF is actively addressing the situation and will provide updates as information becomes available.
